Carlos pizza : the spinach one |
I popped into Aldi to get what in my opinion is the best cheap pizza available from a supermarket. That's the Carlos Diavolo pizza from their 'Totally Topped' range. Unfortunately there was none available. I hope Aldi have not discontinued them. Hot and spicy, they also have a surprising amount of topping all for around £1.60. I also think the base is outstanding (flatbread type), which so often the pizza's in supermarkets get wrong.
They also do a spinach, ricotta and mushroom version, which I haven't tried but doesn't look as tempting. I still expect it to be a higher standard than typical alternatives.
Update : Just had a Carlos spinach pizza. The pizza was still quality but I didn't like the taste or smell of this one.

I totally agree, best supermarket pizza. I love the spinach one. Very good value and excellent taste.
